He believes.
He puts his heart into what he does.
He stays humble.

“My grandma always believed in me……no matter how bizarre she thought my dreams were; she always told me that I’m going to be “SOMEBODY” as long as I put my heart into what I want to do and stay humble.”
With a movie to be aired at The Toronto Film Fest in 2008, and a motion picture for a new animated commercial, due Christmas 2008, TAZITO or TAZ, as he is fondly called by family and friends succeeded and is on his way to achieving more success through hard work and determination.
Celebrating his 23rd birthday this November, Tazito Alessandro Garcia graced GTA This Month with his great personality and shared his views in life during our recent interview. This cheery, 5’11, athletic built character, balances a demanding lifestyle from teaching Capoeira, modeling, and acting and doing everything he can to stay healthy, successful and happy. He tries to make a positive impact on anyone he comes across. He is serious about his career but is never disheartened easily. This mindset, being his main focus in life proves that our “Young Achiever of the Month” although, boyish in appearance is wiser beyond his years.
“He quotes one of his idols, Jackie Chan in saying:”
The only time it hurts, is when I’m not smiling.”
GTAthismonth asked Tazito a few questions, which revealed the good head on his shoulders, how diverse his experiences are and how versatile he is:
GTA: Describe yourself in a nutshell:
Taz: I was born in Madrid, Spain with a big mix in my bloodline and have been traveling like crazy. I moved to Canada (Toronto) five years ago, in 2002. My parents being a banker and a teacher were both overseas workers, which involves a lot of traveling.
I graduated at the Ryerson University, major in Hospitality and Tourism- a joint program with Centennial College. I am also pursuing other careers such as policing, acting and modeling.
I love traveling. I am very sporty and outgoing. I am a people’s person and I like giving everyone a chance, no matter what situation I’m in, just looking at the positive aspects of life, that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
GTA: What are the three most dominant characteristics that you think people love most about you?
Taz: People have often referred to me as the ‘people’s champ’ because I’m a people’s person. I am democratic and positive. If you combine all these three, it comes down to being humble.
GTA: How was your life like as a child? What is the most significant childhood memory that served as an inspiration to you?
Taz: My childhood involved a lot of traveling and shifting, moving from one country to another and getting to experience different cultures. There were a lot of challenges that taught me a lot, like why people would act differently to similar situations, the different mindsets, cultures, and religions…but most of all, it made me tough.
Growing up, I was always into Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles. For some reason every time I watched them do stunts, I would always be able to do them. I always knew that I could fight, but after I officially became a martial artist, I live by rule #1 which is; “you learn to fight not fight.”
From childhood, Taz already had a very versatile lifestyle. His interests varied from playing soccer to martial arts. Imitating Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers, then being exposed to Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee and being able to do punches and kicks exactly how these characters did and being good at it gave him enough motivation to enrol in martial arts classes. He eventually succeeded and won many championships and competitions.
GTA: What is you main focus in life right now? And what have you been doing to stay on track and achieve your goal(s)?
Taz: To stay healthy, successful and happy and try to make a positive impact on anyone I cross paths with.
