Hallow dear readers!
It’s that time of year once again when kids (and the kid in you) of all ages get excited to show off their Halloween costumes. Although we tackle some spooky articles for this issue, we also went beyond GTA. So, apart from Halloween fun, GTA This month is delighted to share with you a unique experience beyond GTA.
Most of the happenings we now have within the Greater Toronto Area are indoors. However, we would like to see the beauty of the Fall season beyond the GTA. So, our feature writer explored the exquisiteness of Stratford. Considered one of the most beautiful cities in Canada, Stratford was a national winner of the 2006 Communities in Bloom competition.
We do not only think outside the box, we literally went outside the box!
It is very interesting to note that Stratford has what it takes – whether you want to catch some action, or simply catch your breath. It is indeed, an enjoyable ride from T.O.
More on the Halloween stuff. Our very enthusiastic young writer, after proudly representing her school at the “NATIONAL ME to WE DAY” recently held at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, will speak about the “Fun things she did during the Halloween”. Students, social justice leaders, media and educators from across the GTA and beyond all came together to celebrate a new way of thinking that will transform the world - a change from living "me" to living "we”. This experience has changed our young writer’s perception in celebrating Halloween. You will be surprised on how this one-day event motivated her to do more, in her own small way, to make a difference.
In making a difference, GTA This Month believes in greening our local community. So, we took into account saving the environment and using resources wisely to help maintain our green planet. Read our special article on “Saving the environment’ and do your share in keeping a cleaner air.
Also, be reminded that Day light Savings Time (DST) ends November 4. Remember to replace the batteries in your carbon monoxide and smoke alarms when you turn back the clock.
Meanwhile, to combat the swift cold breeze, we drove west, this time to have a pint of beer and conducted an interview with our featured restaurateur this month. We were impressed with the grandeur of the Lion Heart British Pub and will definitely come back, not to do another interview, but to have another round of drinks.
Lastly, as Canadians continue to enjoy the soaring exchange rate against the US dollars, we talk about hassle-free border crossing. Never mind if the temperature is dropping, let us enjoy the increasing value of our currency. What perfect timing could there be to go shopping across the border in preparation for Christmas. Just don’t forget the list!
Be safe!
