TORONTO – The Camarines Norte Association Canada – Ontario (CNAC-O) held an induction ceremony for its officers on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Asian Prestige Banquet Hall. It was CNAC-O’s first major social activity. The fourteen officers, directors and town representatives were inducted by Philippine Consul General Alejandro Mosquera who also gave an inspirational address.  

The newly inducted officers are Tony A. San Juan, President; Willie Nabus, 1st Vice-President; Larry Bercasio, 2nd Vice-President; Lida Espanol-Muguerza, Secretary, Priscillano Ostonal, Jr., Treasurer; Rommel Yanto, Auditor and Susan S. Llanera, PRO.  The Directors are Maricris S. Agoston, Shey Silvio, Salvador Gumabao and Elisa B. Maesa.  The Town Reps are Eva S. San Andres (Daet), Randy Fermo (Capalonga), Salve Aquino (San Vicente), Liwanag R. Nabus (Mercedes), Lourdes Balce-Rodriguez (Vinzons), Milvin Servidad (Labo) and Jojo Taduran (at Large).

The evening’s gala commenced with the singing of the Canadian Anthem, led by Jennifer, daughter of Randy and Armie Fermo.  Jennifer later entertained the audience with two more beautiful songs.  Following the Canadian Anthem, Ramon A. San Juan, a Fil-Can Boy Scouts leader, rendered the Philippine National Anthem “Lupang Hinirang.” Grace before meal was said by Director Maricris S. Agoston of London, Ontario.

Larry Bercasio hosted the program with great panache. Tony A. San Juan, delivered a brief inaugural speech after welcoming the 150 guests. Willie Nabus’ talk extolled the natural resources and many positive aspects of Camarines Norte province. In his closing remarks, he thanked the audience for showing their support of CNAC-O with their presence and participation in this initial fundraising gala.

Susan S. Llanera, assisted by Daet town representative Eva S. San Andres and secretary Lida Muguerza, raffled and awarded the dozens of door prizes donated by members of the association.  Elisa Maesa and Salve Aquino peddled the 50-50 cash draw which was won by Director Shey Silvio and who donated back her $60.00 winning to CNAC-O. 

The music provided by Prestige’s sound machine accommodated the crowd with vibrant non-stop dancing immediately after dinner. 

Leaders from various associations as well as private business people who joined in the celebration were  Bicol Canada, Culture Philippines Ontario, Featineans Assocation of Toronto, Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC), Pil-Can Friendship Society, Maharlika Knights of Columbus, San Lorenzo Ruiz Knight of Columbus, Himig Pilipino, Rosales Association, Silayan Community Centre, Toronto Falcons Basketball, Fil-Can Boy Scouts, Philippine Cabletow, FILCREA, AFCA, Journalist Kathreen Pascual-Binaday and Romeo Zetazate, business personalities Harold Guarin, Romy Camacho, and Andrea A. San Juan.

The officers and members of CNAC-O extend their appreciation and deep gratitude to the advertisers, donors and guests for their kind and generous support.
