Toronto Auto Show By: KC Nañola

I had one of the greatest experiences in my life when I went to see The Toronto International Auto Show during a class fieldtrip on February 22. Wow, it was awesome!

The Auto show is up from February 15-24 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and Rogers Centre. It is open to the public and is one of the largest auto events in North America. Yes, it is one huge show, covering over 850,000 sq. ft. in the Toronto Convention Centre and Rogers Centre. It houses over 1,000 cars, trucks and motorcycles designed to suit our lifestyles and meet our needs.

I’m not a big fan of cars myself, but it was exciting to see the various displays of colourful cars ranging from micro cars, futuristic, sophisticated, etc. Although Toronto is now crowded with vehicles on the road, one cannot help but admire the creative designs on display at the show. Some are beyond imagination like those that talk back to the driver and cars with automated features. Now, how cool is that?

The place was packed with people, all amazed with the look and high-technology of these new cars. I got to see all the different types of cars they had there and it was really overwhelming to be able to look and actually sit in most of the cars and examine them. I got the chance to see the newest, coolest and the hottest cars on the market.

Hey, I am only a student and obviously will not be able to afford even the cheapest car on display but I certainly had a good story to tell my parents when I got back home after the trip. Also, the purpose of this fieldtrip was for our class to do a car review. If you’re wondering what exactly a car review is, it’s when people evaluate cars and write a couple of pages about the car and what they think about it (including pictures of course). Car reviews are mostly seen in car magazines and online.

Finding the perfect car to do a car review on wasn’t as easy as I though it would be. Just being surrounded by more than 1,000 glistening new cars, made my job even harder than it already was. Fortunately, I found the car I was looking for, the 2008 Acura CSX Sedan.

So, off I went along with the other members of my group to browse around and see what other things the Auto Show had to offer. People from the Canadian air force were there along with air, sea and army cadets. I am an air cadet myself so, it was really cool to see what it would actually be like if I were in the air force. They also gave out a lot of free items like, bracelets, dog tags, bouncy balls, posters etc. Who doesn’t like freebies, anyway?

I bet you, when you go see the auto show next year, you’ll surely be amazed as I was! I have taken some snapshots of the auto show to put in my album and I am sharing them with you. Meanwhile, see what does your car color says about you-just for fun!

Black - cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who's an outsider or rebel.
Silver - cars indicate someone who's cool, calm and slightly aloof.
Green - cars can often be chosen by people with hysterical tendencies.

Blue - cars are chosen by the more introspective, reflective and cautious driver.
Gray - cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work.
Red - cars denote those who are full of zest, energy and drive and who think, move and talk quickly.
Pink - cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers.
White - cars represent status-seeking extrovert drivers.
Cream - cars are the least likely to be involved in accidents and denote self-contained and controlled owners.

P.S. I’m Silver~
