CAMARINES NORTE ASSOCIATION CANADA – ONTARIO (CNAC-O)
FALL INDUCTION & DINNER – DANCE
TORONTO – The Camarines Norte Association Canada – Ontario (CNAC-O) held a general meeting on Sunday, May 25, 2008, in North York Civic Centre. There was the usual exchange of pleasantries and hellos before the meeting was called to order.
The business opened with a report by the President, Tony A. San Juan, on his recent official meetings with the Camarines Norte Provincial Health Director, Dr. Arnold Salaguste and Daet entrepreneur, Mr. Tony S. Apuya, about the proposed medical mission initiative. San Juan also met with the Camarines Norte State College President, Dr. Wenifredo Onate and Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Erlinda Porcincula regarding the scholarship project proposal. The highlight of his report was the preliminary gathering of ideas and opinions on the CNAC-O Lateral Assistance Programs or CLAP, that will form the basis of the Association’s main project for the ensuing years.
A CNAC-O Official Banner and Pennant, which was beautifully and originally designed by Lydia Madrona-Yanto and Lida Espanol-Muguerza was presented by the 2nd Vice-President, Larry Bercasio. Donation of school supplies and books is one of CNAC-O’s initiatives. We have received heart-warming from town priests, Fr. Jose Lito Chavez of Jose Panganiban and Fr. Romeo Violeta of Mercedes, Camarines Norte. A proposed Scholarship Project (a second CNAC-O initiative) was put in place and more discussion on the policy guidelines (schemes and procedures) will be put to table at the next meeting.
CNAC-O is pleased to announce that we will be participating at this year’s “Salu-salo sa Earl Bales Park”, PIDC’s annual picnic on Saturday, June 14. We are inviting all our “kabanowaans” to join us, have some fun and get together to be a part in celebrating the 110th Philippine Independence Day.
Likewise, you are all invited to come and attend CNAC-O’s Fall Induction and Dinner-Dance on Saturday, September 27th at the Our Lady of Assumption Church’s social hall, 2565 Bathurst Street, Toronto. Portion of the proceeds will benefit the Scholarship Project in Camarines Norte.
